Let’s Get Started
Neil Norton Design
Neil Norton Design specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of made to measure kitchens, bedroom, living room, and home office furniture. We are a design driven company with a simple and stylish design ethic combining imaginative use of colour and materials to maximum effect. Attention to detail is the hallmark of our style.
We know that a kitchen or bedroom, living room, and home office furniture is a major investment and take every part of the process, from design, through manufacture, to installation, very seriously.
We need to work in close consultation with you, tailoring our design to your specific requirements; if you do have any specific requests please don’t hesitate to ask.
Our initial design and quotation is free and our experienced designers will work with you to generate a practical, yet imaginative design, incorporating your decisions on colour, materials, finish and choice of appliances and accessories to make your design unique.
Planning Your Kitchen
You may well have a good idea of what you are looking for in your kitchen, a style and an image, ideas formed from magazines and brochures. In addition there will be certain constraints dependant on the space you have and your particular requirements.
It is often helpful to note down some of the basic criteria to enable you to make a practical start on realising your design. At this stage we are looking for a “wish list” and accurate room dimensions can be helpful and will enable us to draw up a design for you.
Consequently, this document is designed to raise some of the key questions, as well as encouraging you to make an initial sketch of the kitchen space you are working with, to make the process easier.
What Happens Next
The design process is a complex procedure, there are many details that will need to be finalised, it should be a collaboration, and we will work with you to realise your aims and ideas. When you are happy with the overall design and costing we will require an Initial deposit payment of 30% which will secure you a slot for production and a provisional delivery date.
Our designers will work with you to fine tune your design and once the design details are finalised we will set up Final Survey meeting. This meeting needs to take place a minimum of eight weeks prior to delivery dependant on the length of time required for manufacture.
Following the Final Survey meeting our design and technical teams will prepare a For Manufacture package of working documents and drawings. These are the final documents, which are issued to mour workshop and from which your kitchen will be made. A further interim deposit of 40% of the contract value is required at this stage.
We will send you this package and you will need to thoroughly check them to be sure that you are completely happy with the design. Along with the Interim deposit we will require a signed copy of our Terms & Conditions to be returned to us, once we receive these we can start to make your kitchen.
The manufacturing process takes a minimum of six weeks from this point.
Your delivery will be met by an installation co-ordinator who will manage and co-ordinate the installation, liaising with fitters and painters on site and with the sales/design consultant who will keep you informed as to progress on site.
We have committed teams of designers, technical and installation staff to see your job through from the initial design stages to completion to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible and that, most importantly, the finished product is beautifully designed, detailed and finished.
